In warmer locations, pre-chilling the bulbs for 6–8 weeks can improve flowering. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern areas and colder valleys: Plant from September to November before hard frost. Plant each bulb with the pointed side facing upward, approximately 10–15 cm deep and 10–15 cm apart. Water thoroughly after planting, then keep the soil lightly moist without allowing it to become waterlogged. Care Tips Choose a cool, bright location with good drainage. Apply compost or a balanced bulb fertiliser at planting time. Remove faded flowers, but leave the green foliage in place until it turns yellow naturally. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season. When pre-chilling bulbs, keep them dry and separate from ripening fruit. Daffodil bulbs perform best in cooler areas; flowering in very warm regions can vary according to winter temperature and chilling.
