Sizing is based on the width of the paw pad. Have your dog stand naturally, then lift the opposite leg so they bear their full weight down, and mark the widest points of the paw. Most dogs have significantly wider front paws than rear paws - which is exactly why the boots are sold in pairs rather than sets of four, so you can order different sizes for front and back. The glass fiber winter lugs are engineered to grip ice, frozen ground, and packed snow - functioning like micro-cleats by mirroring the natural texture of your dog's own paw anatomy. Like human winter boots, this compound is designed for cold outdoor surfaces. Using them continuously indoors on hard floors will cause unnecessary wear on the lugs and reduce their traction over time. A short indoor trial to check fit is fine - just keep it brief.
