Grape Variety: Riesling, Muscat Producer: Yannick Meckert Region: Obernai, Rosheim, Alsace, France Wild Scale: 3/5 Vegan friendly wine 13% alcohol Winemaking: Organic Riesling grapes were harvested by hand and underwent direct press. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels. A small portion of Muscat was blended into the wine. No filtration, fining or added sulphur. This Wine: Natural white wine with a medium body. Once again Yannick shows his love for partnering aromatic grapes with more mineral varieties. Despite being just 3% of the blend, it is the Muscat which first expresses its fruity and perfumed character in the palate before the rocky citrus of the Riesling arrives. Another unique wine from one of the most sought after producers in Alsace. Notes on the Winemaker: After training with some of the great names in natural wine such as Patrick Meyer and Le Coste, Yannick Meckert established his own project following in the footsteps of his parents but taking winemaking in a more organic and holistic direction. In 2019 he produced his first vintage from just under 4 hectares in the Alsatian village of Obernai.
