Pojer e Sandri Nosiola 2024

Mario and Fiorentino’s Nosiola offers us the opportunity to dive head first into some pretty darn classic mountain juice. Oscillating back and forth between the trademark powdery/floral softness of the varietal, and the tighter, nervier hallmarks of the wine’s high-altitude alpine heritage, it makes for a killer summer picnic wine. Citrus blossoms, fresh cut lilies, honeysuckle, and white peach sit softly in the glass, punctuated by racier notes of lime zest, Granny Smith and cut grass, with the telltale salty/nutty presence of both fresh and roasted hazelnuts lingering at the tail. Fun fact: it is believed the varietal’s name is derived from the Italian term for hazelnut, nocciola. Makes sense right?
