Ka'u Classic Dark Roast
Of our three types of 100% Ka'u Classic coffees, this one is the smoothest. The dark roast softens this coffee’s brightness and brings out more hints of chocolate and sweetness. Coffee Review agreed, featuring our Dark Roast with a 94-point score in their April 2022 review -- and including it in its Top 30 Coffees of 2022. From Coffee Review (April 2022): "Crisply chocolaty, floral-toned. Nectarine, brown sugar, wisteria, baking chocolate, fresh-cut oak in aroma and cup. Complex, bittersweet structure with quiet acidity; very full, syrupy-smooth mouthfeel. Baking chocolate and oak notes characterize the long finish, with pretty hints of wisteria underneath." This coffee consists of the Typica variety, grown in the rich soil and cool climate of the Mauna Loa volcano’s southern slope.
