Fluorite with Quartz
A glittery specimen of "Tanzanite" Fluorite and Quartz from Quanzhou, Fujian, China. This variety of Fluorite, often referred to as "Tanzanite" Fluorite, is named for its indigo hue, which can appear as either more blue or purple depending on lighting conditions. The Fluorite crystals are pseudo-dodecahedrons, an unusual and collectible crystal shape for this species! If that weren't enough, hundreds of tiny needle-point or "hedgehog" clear Quartz crystals can be seen sparkling throughout the specimen. Some of the Fluorites have such nice clarity that they act as windows and you can see Quartz crystals hiding out underneath.
