Anji Pomelo Black Tea

Crafted by our old friend Charlie Xu Made with tea from his high mountain garden. This exceptional black tea is made from the Anji white tea varietal (安吉白茶白叶一号). Six-Time Pomelo Flower Infusion Process Charlie’s black tea is layered with specially selected pomelo flowers and left to infuse. The pomelo—ancestor of today’s grapefruit—is widely enjoyed across Southeast Asia and Southern China. After the initial infusion, the pomelo flowers are sifted out, the tea is re-dried, and the process is repeated. This cycle happens six times, imparting a balanced yet distinct floral and citrus aroma with a delicate flavour. Each step is crucial to ensure the fragrance and flavour of the flowers meld with the tea without overwhelming its wonderful natural character. The tea easily absorbs moisture from the flowers, which is why it must be re-dried after every cycle.
