"Candy Pine" Furisode Sleeve Pair
This listing is for a pair of sleeves salvaged from a vintage Japanese furisode kimono. Furisode typically have 36-42" long sleeves. This vibrant furisode sleeve pair blends soft pastel elegance with bold celebratory color through embroidered pines, blossoms, and sweeping seasonal details and across a luminous pink-to-cream-to-blue gradient. The silk is a woven hexagon jacquard filled with chrysanthemum crests -- a motif associated with longevity and imperial refinement. The embroidered pine branches symbolize endurance and plum blossoms evoke renewal, beauty, and the arrival of Spring. Rich embroidery in citrus orange, mint green, gold, blush pink, and silver creates striking dimensional texture throughout the sleeves, making them especially eye-catching as display textiles, couture accents, or ceremonial fabric art. Cream lining. There are signs of age consistent with light-colored vintage fabrics. This set has a few scattered small spots. The cream lining also has some mottling. We salvage what we can from vintage and antique kimono that show signs of wear or age that preclude them for wearing or displaying.
