BOD2-RLY Train Block Occupancy Detector
The BLOCKsignalling BOD2-RLY is a compact infra-red train detector with a built-in relay, designed to detect trains passing over a sensor and trigger external devices automatically. It provides a simple and reliable way to monitor train movements anywhere on a layout, including tunnels and low light environments. Using its integrated infra-red sensor, the module can detect trains even in complete darkness, making it ideal for hidden sections of track where traditional light-based detectors would not function. When a train is detected, the onboard relay is activated, allowing connected equipment such as signals, LEDs, or control systems to respond instantly. At its core, the BOD2-RLY offers flexible operation. By default, the relay activates when a train is present and resets once the train has cleared the sensor. Adjustable delay settings allow the indication to remain active for a chosen period, making it suitable for applications such as signal control or track occupancy detection. The module can also ignore gaps between carriages for more accurate detection. A range of built-in programs enables different behaviors, including pulse outputs for computer systems, timed relay activation, flashing outputs, and toggle functions. Advanced options such as random delays and proportional triggering allow for more realistic and varied railway operation. Key Features Detects trains using an in-built infra-red sensor, suitable for tunnels and dark environments.
