Antique Signed Japanese Suzuri Bako, Calligraphy Box - Cypress | Taisho, 1914

An antique Japanese Suzuri Bako, calligraphy box for the storage of ink and brushes. Made from hinoki (cypress) wood. This piece features a dated base, showing Taisho period, 1914. This small box features a stack of small drawers, as well as a lidded compartment on top, hiding a single wide storage section. The underside of the box's lid shows its life as a calligraphy box, with ink stains covering it.
