First introduced in 1932, the OMEGA “Marine” was the first commercially available diver’s wristwatch. It was successfully tested to reach depths of 73 metres, with later trials proving the watch completely waterproof at 135 metres. With a patented double case seal to keep the elements away, the Marine became an instant success by making the dangerous profession a lot safer.
