The outer sphere is blown smooth, while a fluted glass liner sits within it — its vertical ridges catching and scattering light across the brass fitting at the crown. Together the two layers create a quiet depth: the bare filament glows through column after column of glass, casting fine shadow lines onto the surfaces below.
