Pawnee Pecan

Pawnee Pecan (Carya illinoinensis) produces large, sweet pecans with thin shells, typically harvested in mid to late fall. It is an upright, spreading tree that reaches a mature height of 70-100 feet with a spread of 40-75 feet, excellent for home gardens and commercial orchards. Thriving in USDA hardiness zones 6-9 and requiring 600-800 chilling hours, this Type I variety requires pollination with a Type II pecan tree. Best grown in full sun. It is known for its early ripening and high-quality nuts.
