The St Petersburg chess piece set is inspired by Howard Staunton, who introduced and promoted the standardised Staunton design at the 1851 London International Chess Tournament. Hand-carved from Anjan and Boxwood, the pieces are designed to withstand the rigours of play and maintain their elegance for years to come. Beautifully designed and perfectly balanced. Ideal for competitive and casual play. Green felt bases for smooth movement and board protection. Includes two additional queens. King height 96mm | base 41mm. Pawn height 50mm | base 29mm.
