British – WWI – Memorial Plaque – London Scottish – Duncan George McGregor – 1914 Casualty
1982 Private Duncan George McGregor was from. He disembarked in France with the 1/14th (County of London) Battalion – the London Scottish 15 September 1914. He was born in Clevedon and lived in Cheltenham. McGregor was killed in action 1 November 1914 when the Battalion encountered German forces at Messines, and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium. A very early casualty for the London Scottish.
