Original Cyanotype on Paper 15 x 22"

A monstera leaf fills the entire composition, its iconic splits and fenestrations extending beyond all edges of the paper. Sweeping wave-like brushstrokes flow across the upper portion and weave throughout the leaf, adding a beautiful loose, gestural energy. The deep midnight navy upper section gives way to a luminous soft teal and powder blue as the eye moves down, creating a stunning gradient effect. The tones shift from deep navy at the top to a glowing, airy blue-green throughout the lower half. Created using the cyanotype process, two chemicals are hand mixed and applied to watercolor paper, real botanicals are placed on top and exposed to natural sunlight, then washed by hand to reveal the image. Each piece is completely one-of-a-kind original artwork.
