Needle Felting Fabulous Flamingos with Joyce Hazlerig
Learn to felt a little flamingo friend! This Sarafina Fiber Arts needle felted creation is taught by Sarafina Certified Instructor Joyce Hazlerig. A wonderful intermediate project you will learn felting skills that include making a simple wire armature, shaping wool, wrapping wool, and a shingle technique of layering fiber to mimic feather fluff and using a wax medium to stiffen beak and feet. The SF supply pack makes two. Location: The Rogue Skein, 1013 Main Street, Kerrville, TX 78028 Teacher: Joyce Hazlerig Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced (Previous felting experience is welcome but not required.) Skills Needed: some manual dexterity for twisting the wires ability to work in small areas Skills Learned: shaping wool by needle felting, using locks, making armatures Class Kit: Core wool skin tone, Skin tone wool, floral wires, specialty dyed Teeswater locks Kit cost: $ 38 +tax Personal supplies: a felting pad at least and any needles they have Class Supplies: a felting pad and needles if they don’t have any already The supplies will be available in store. Students receive a 10% discount on the day of class. Consignment items and class kits are not available for a discount.
