18″ ‘New Moon’ Shamanic Drum. Reindeer with Moonstone crystal handle

This is an 18-inch shamanic drum made from Reindeer rawhide and is a special drum as it was birthed at the time of the New Moon. The New Moon is when the night sky was at its darkest and this hide is particularly dark to reflect this. We have placed a moonstone crystal in the handle and painted a moon-owl motif on the inside of the wooden hoop, with owl being the master of the dark. The hoop is English Ash waxed with beeswax from rescued bees, and the tension ring is wrapped in suede with fluffy fabric finishing off the handle so that it is really comfortable to hold. As ancient as the moon herself, Moonstone holds the power of mystery, and gives us a touchable connection to the magic of the moon. This stone holds the energy of intuition and balance, and since ancient times has been an amulet of protection for travellers, a channel for prophecy and a path to understanding. Our ties to the moon are strong as it governs the tides and rhythms of the Earth with its waxing and waning, and with this influences our emotions, behaviours and spiritual growth. Moonstone calms and relieves stress while releasing love of all kinds.
