Gran Enemigo Single Vineyard El Cepillo 2020
DESCRIPTION Score: 97 pts Robert Parker | 96 pts James Suckling “Gran Enemigo El Cepillo Single Vineyard 2020 was also incredibly aromatic and showy despite its youth, bursting with a combination of clove, nutmeg, curry, aromatic herbs and something reminiscent of vermouth—exuberant, expressive and open. It is labeled as Cabernet Franc, but legally it can include up to 15% of other grapes, in this case Malbec. The 2020 is still a bit young and shows a certain dryness on the palate that gives it a slight rustic edge, which is not present in the 2019, a wine that is also saltier and more layered. In 2018, 7,200 bottles were produced.” — Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate (Robert Parker) TECHNICAL SHEET Winery: El Enemigo Score: 97 pts Robert Parker | 96 pts James Suckling Type: Red Wine Vintage: 2020 Varietal: Cabernet Franc Blend: 85% Cabernet Franc | 15% Malbec Aging: 15 months in 100-year-old oak foudres Winemaker: Alejandro Vigil Alcohol: 13.5% Region: El Cepillo, Valle de Uco, Mendoza (1,300 m a.s.l.)
