Gouache Workshop
Instructor: Jodie Simms In this introductory workshop, students will get a chance to experiment with gouache (pronounced "gwash"). Used like watercolour but with the ability to layer like acrylics, this medium is very fun to work with! In this 2.5 hour workshop students will learn about colour and colour mixing, how to handle a brush with gouache, and do some basic exercises. Students will aim to complete 2 simple paintings by the end of the class, based on reference images, using the techniques taught in the workshop. All Materials Included. Instructor Bio: Jodie is a visual artist and art educator with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Memorial University’s Grenfell Campus, teacher certification from the University of Ottawa, and a Master of Arts in Art Education from Concordia University.
