NEW: Modelling a Torso
Tutors: Rob Turvey & Tony Mott | Wednesdays 10am-4pm | 12 weeks In this course, you will model and cast a two-thirds life-size human torso from a live model. Through practical studio work and historical context, we will explore how the torso became an enduring sculptural genre, shaped in part by our appreciation of fragmentary antique sculpture, particularly from the Greek and Roman traditions. You will complete your sculpture using the waste mould casting technique and have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of surface finishes, allowing you to develop the final character and presentation of your work.
