NEW: The Little Snoring Gripping Beast Viking Pendant | Handmade Sterling Silver Archaeological Reproduction
A Historically Informed Recreation of an Early Medieval Artefact This striking open-work amulet is a faithful handmade reproduction of the Little Snoring Viking Pendant, individually sculpted in wax before being cast in sterling silver using the traditional lost-wax process. This piece is based on the archaeological find currently housed in the British Museum, recorded as Museum No. 1999,1001.1, with careful attention given to the form, decoration and character of the original object. Featuring an intricate Borre-style "gripping beast" weave, this pendant embodies the raw, mythological craftsmanship of the Norse age. The pendant features an ornate suspension loop, faithfully recreated as part of the original Viking design, and is sized to accommodate chains and cord ends up to 4mm in diameter. Hand-Sculpted Character 🔥 A SilverfireUK Studio Original: Made by us in Sussex. Unlike commercially produced replicas created from moulds, because each pendant in this collection begins as an individual hand-carved wax sculpture, it allows the piece to retain the character and subtle variation of traditional craftsmanship while remaining faithful to the archaeological source material. While the ancient museum artefact has suffered over a thousand years of wear and burial degradation leaving it at a delicate 15.12 grams, our modern tribute is built with a rugged, heirloom-quality presence and weighs slightly heavier. Because each piece is individually sculpted by hand, yours will feel incredibly premium on the neckline, offering a heavy, tactile connection to the past that factory-stamped jewellery simply cannot replicate. Choose Your Finish As part of the finishing process, you can choose the appearance of your pendant: Natural Silver Finish : A natural matt sterling silver finish that preserves the tactile character of the hand-sculpted detail. Over time, the surface will naturally evolve, developing a subtle patina through handling and exposure. This gradual ageing process gives each pendant its own unique character. Antiqued Viking Finish – To bring the multi-layered depth of the gripping beast to life, we can apply a dark, antiqued patina to the deep recesses of the design, creating a striking contrast against the lighter silver highlights. The oxidised recesses enhance the carved features, giving the pendant the appearance of an aged archaeological artefact. Your chosen finish is applied specifically to your pendant during production, making each piece uniquely yours.
