Lerida Estate - Washed Gesha, Boquete Panama

One of Panama’s historic estates, once again at the very top. Finca Lérida has been part of Panama’s coffee history for generations, but what makes the estate particularly interesting to us today is that its relevance is not historical alone. In 2026, Finca Lérida returned to the very top of Best of Panama, taking 1st Place in the Geisha Natural category with 95.63 points. It is a remarkable confirmation of an estate we already believed deserved a place in the Standout collection. Some coffees are selected because they surprise you. Others because they remind you why simplicity, executed perfectly, is so compelling. We selected Lerida Washed Gesha because it represents one of Panama’s most enduring coffee estates at its finest. While much of the world’s attention has turned towards increasingly experimental processing, Lerida continues to demonstrate that a beautifully washed Gesha, grown in exceptional conditions and handled with absolute precision, remains one of coffee’s greatest experiences. The cup is remarkably transparent. Delicate jasmine and orange blossom lead into sweet white peach, ripe citrus and soft honeyed sweetness. Every flavour feels effortlessly connected, supported by vibrant acidity and a refined tea-like structure that carries through to an exceptionally clean and lingering finish. It is elegant without trying to impress, allowing the quality of the coffee itself to speak with quiet confidence. Harvested during the 2026 crop on the slopes of Volcán Barú, this Gesha was grown between 1,700 and 1,900 meters above sea level, where cool mountain temperatures and volcanic soils create ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation. Following harvest, the coffee was carefully washed before being air freighted directly from Panama to our roastery, preserving both freshness and vibrancy. Lerida has spent generations refining coffees that express place rather than process. This lot is a reminder that some of the world’s most memorable cups are also among its most restrained.
