Eurytides protesilaus
Eurytides protesilaus is a large, delicately ivory-colored butterfly, recognizable by its long, slender tails and the thin red crescent that highlights the angle of its hindwings. Its forewings, marked with incomplete brown stripes and bordered by a double dark edge, add to its elegant appearance. This luminous flutter butterfly frequents clearings and sunny woodland edges. By feeding on flower nectar (with a preference for yellow corollas), it provides discreet but essential pollination to the flora. Presented in a hermetically sealed glass box for hanging, it is enhanced by a black frame on a black background. Each specimen is carefully identified by a calligraphed label.
