Alfresco 14" Cart-Mount Double Side Burner AXESB-2C - 40,000 BTU, 2 Burners, Commercial Stainless Steel with Recessed Wind-Guard Top
Alfresco 14" Cart-Mount Double Side Burner AXESB-2C This is the cart version of Alfresco's AXE-series double side burner. It is not a built-in: it bolts onto an Alfresco cart grill in place of one of the side shelves, turning the shelf into a two-burner cooking station. Forty thousand BTU under a recessed, wind-shielded top, in commercial stainless steel with heli-arc welded seams. Alfresco supplies it as a complete conversion — all panels, stainless flex hoses and the fittings needed to plumb it into the cart come in the box, and the side panels are reversible so the burner can go on either the left or the right of the grill. Check your serial number This one is worth getting right before you run power to a patio, and almost nobody publishes it correctly. Alfresco's published AXESB-2C drawing lists the electrical supply as a 9 VDC battery igniter — no mains power at all, which is exactly what you want on a grill that rolls around. But Alfresco changed the ignition system partway through production: units from serial number 18-00000 forward carry a 110 VAC ignition system instead. That is why Alfresco publishes two different spec sheets for the AXE side burner line. So the honest answer is that it depends on which build you receive, and we are not going to print one figure and let you wire a patio around it. Call 843-212-7209 before you plan an outlet and we will confirm the ignition system on the unit we would actually ship you. Which cart grills does it fit? Alfresco describes the AXESB-2C as attaching to any Alfresco cart model grill, and the installation drawing is dimensioned against the ALXE-36CD deluxe cart unit. In every case a side shelf comes off and the burner assembly takes its place. The Alfresco cart grills we stock are the ALXE-30C, ALXE-36C, ALXE-42C and ALXE-56C. Because cart configurations vary by model year and shelf type, tell us your exact grill and serial number when you order and we will confirm the fit rather than have you take a shelf off and find out. AXESB-2C or AIPGSB-2C? Same job, different control package, and it should follow the grill you own. This AXE-series burner carries control knob accent lights matched to the ALXE and AXE grill lines. The AIPGSB-2C is the Intelligent Professional version, with LumaTouch precision control and knob lighting that matches an AIPG cart grill's panel, and it costs more. If your cart grill is an ALXE, this is the one. If it is an AIPG, the controls will only line up with the AIPGSB-2C. Cart-mount or built-in? If the burner is going into a masonry or stainless island rather than onto a rolling cart, you want the built-in instead: the AXESB-2 in this same AXE series, or the AIPGSB-2 in the Intelligent line. Those drop into a countertop cutout; this one does not, and there is no island cutout for a cart burner. One safety point that applies specifically to cart-mounted burners: Alfresco states that portable, cart-mounted side burners must not be used under overhead combustible construction. A rolling grill under a wooden pergola is the case people get wrong. Two pot burners, a sear burner, or a power burner? This is a pot-and-pan station — two independent burners so a sauce can hold at a simmer while a stockpot runs hard beside it. Right for sides, sauces, blanching and seafood. For high-heat searing instead, the Alfresco Sear Zone AXESZ is the ceramic infrared answer. For low-country boils, frying and stockpots, step up to the Versa Power cooker AXEVP at 400 to 65,000 BTU. The whole category is in our burners collection, and this one sits in side burners $1,000–$2,000. This is an accessory that has to match a specific grill, in a specific handedness, with a cover part number most people order wrong — so we would rather spend five minutes on the phone than process a return.
