Tall sideboard in Rosewood (McIntosh, 1970)

A striking Mid-Century tall sideboard designed by Tom Robertson and handcrafted in rosewood by the renowned Scottish cabinetmakers A.H. McIntosh during the early 1970s. Combining elegant proportions with exceptional craftsmanship, this impressive cabinet offers generous storage while showcasing the rich grain and warm tones for which McIntosh furniture is celebrated. Behind its four beautifully matched doors, the cabinet provides an abundance of practical storage. The interior is divided into four spacious compartments, each fitted with a full-width shelf, making it ideal for storing dinnerware, glassware, books, or household essentials. Above the cupboards are two smoothly running drawers, one of which is lined for cutlery, reflecting the thoughtful attention to detail that characterises Tom Robertson’s designs. This sideboard has been fully restored in our workshop by skilled restorers. The entire piece has been carefully sanded and refinished to enhance the natural beauty of the rosewood while preserving its original character. Every door has been adjusted to close perfectly, and each drawer has been serviced to ensure smooth and effortless operation. A superb example of British Mid-Century design, this elegant cabinet is both highly functional and visually impressive, making it an ideal addition to a dining room, living room, or contemporary interior.
