Domaine Derain “La Combe”

Domaine Derain “La Combe” is a fresh, precise example of Burgundian Chardonnay. Lemon zest, slightly honeyed and smoky aromas on the nose give way to a vibrant, zippy acidity upon tasting. Delicious minerality and freshness rather than weightiness shows, the taste is clean and mouthwatering with a long finish. Biodynamically farmed from a single 0.5Ha parcel planted in 1983 by Dominique Derain on chalky-limestone soil. The grapes are pressed whole bunch, fermented and aged in old oak and aged on the fine lees for 18 months.
