1 - 8 ounce Bottle of Novacan Copper Patina The Novacan Copper Patina is designed to transform silver solder into a rich copper color, adding warmth and a unique look to your stained glass projects. For the best results, follow these steps: After soldering, wipe the finished solder with 0000 (super fine) steel wool. Clean the solder with a non-ammonium cleaner (avoid glass or window cleaners). A spray bottle filled with inexpensive alcohol or a flux remover like CJ's or KwikClean will work well. Apply the copper patina with a clean acid/flux brush. Clean the surface again to remove any excess patina. Finish by applying a metal polish, car wax, or Clarity Finishing Compound to shine and protect the altered solder. For an Antique Finish, after completing the steps above, go over the solder again with the super fine steel wool to lighten the copper patina, then clean once more. By alternating between these techniques, you can create a beautiful, antique look with subtle variations in the copper finish, enhancing the character of your work.
