The Kimberley whale mark was designed by MLB Design for the Protect the Kimberley / Concert for the Kimberley campaign in 2012. It became a symbol of a movement that helped stop Woodside's plans to build a $45 billion gas processing facility at Walmadany / James Price Point, on Country sacred to the Jabirr Jabirr and Goolorabooloo people. Backed by Traditional Owners, communities and the Wilderness Society, the campaign succeeded, leading to one of the most significant conservation outcomes in Australian history. To mark the Wilderness Society's 50th anniversary, we've created a t-shirt for places around the country that pay tribute to landmark wins inspired by vintage campaign designs. This 'Protect the Kimberley' t-shirt is part of our 'Wilderness Tour' collection, celebrating some of the Wilderness Society's greatest hits! Together, for five decades we've been showing up for communities, wildlife, and the wild places they need to survive. Wear this t-shirt to celebrate the reefs, rivers and red cliffs of one of the world's last untouched coastlines.
