Workshop | THE ART OF THE HAND BROOM: ENCHANTED & RITUAL BROOMS (MORNING SESSION)
GILES GALLERY | PONTYCLUN WALES | MORNING SESSION THE ART OF THE HAND BROOM: ENCHANTED & RITUAL BROOMS Where: Giles Gallery, Pontyclun, Rhondda Cynon Taff, CF72 9EG CYMRU Date: Sunday 20 September 2026 Time: 10:00-13:00 Skill Level: Beginners Age: 18+ Cost: £85pp, includes your choice of materials. Tools are provided for use during the workshop and remain the property of Bristol Broomworks. Join me in Wales for the first time as we gather to weave your own enchanted ritual handbroom, in this intimate 3 hour workshop. You'll learn the fundamentals of heritage handcrafted brooms (a pre-industrial craft using no machinery and no electricity), choosing your fibre, twine colour, and an adornment: a crystal, pendant, or dried botanical (provided by me or bring your own), to make a broom that's entirely unique to you and how you express your practical magic. Made to sweep both ways: dust from the floor or energy from a room. Cast with it, smudge with it, or simply clean house with it. The apotropaic tradition it's rooted in has always drawn that line thin. Please note: broom making is a physical craft, completed in one sitting with a single length of twine. Come prepared to sit, pull, and use both hands and feet for a sustained period (bring a cushion if you like). Knives and lighters are in use. This is currently a morning-only session. If it sells out, an afternoon session will be added. Refunds and cancellations ✨ Please note: workshop bookings are non-refundable. If you can’t attend, you’re welcome to send someone in your place - just let me know in advance so I have their details.
