The Lake Road journey began with the first vines planted in 1975. Located on the furthest eastern point of the world, Gisborne sitting just north of Hawkes Bay, the vines are the first to see the light of each new day. This abundant sunlight and coastal climate means that the fruit ripens earlier with rich, tropical fruit spectrum, wonderful aromatics and the perfect refreshing acidity in their Stoney River range. For three generations, the Blampied family have persevered and built on their expert knowledge of winegrowing with an ongoing commitment to innovation. Delighting with ripe nashi pear, juicy peach and citrus blossum, this Pinot Gris offers a floral overtone and a palate of juicy fruit flavours with a beautifully rounded mouthfeel, finishing smooth and refreshing.
