23SC Smooth Cotton Panels - FeatherLite 1/16" MDF

A triple acrylic primed canvas that creates similar effects to painting oil primed linen. 23SC Smooth Cotton is a professional grade, fine texture polyflax/cotton blend canvas that has added durability and longevity due to the synthetic polyflax fibers. The three coats of acid-free, virgin acrylic titanium gesso creates an ultra smooth surface with minimal absorbency to manipulate the paint and achieve translucent effects. Whether you an accomplished artist or still developing your craft, 23SC is perfect for workshops as a less expensive alternative to linen. It's almost like painting on linen for half the price! This canvas is mounted to our 1/16" FEATHERLITE MDF panel, our original MDF panel but half as thick at only 1/16" thin. Our MDF panels are a double refined hardboard with no added oils. The back of the board is sealed with our signature gray melamine for a finished look that prevents warping and deterioration. Designed for the traveling artists who needs a lightweight yet rigid panel. FEATURES of 23SC Smooth Cotton: Ultra smooth, medium weight canvas ideal for portraits and details Polyflax/cotton blend is substantially stronger than 100% cotton duck Minimal absorbency permits paint manipulation and translucent effects Triple acrylic primed with acid-free, 100% virgin acrylic titanium gesso For oil, water-soluble/mixable oils, and acrylic 11.5 oz primed Featured Artist: "Raymar’s Smooth Cotton Canvas is a versatile light tooth surface with a semi-absorbent quality. This surface has a nice drag for scumbling yet is smooth enough to allow the texture of a transparent brushstroke to show undisturbed by the weave. With this surface I can create a wide variety of soft and hard edges and the acrylic primer keeps the oils paints from getting sucked into the panel, keeping the work looking bright and fresh." - Bryan Mark Taylor bryanmarktaylor.com
