2024 Giuseppe Quintarelli 'Primofiore', Veneto, Italy

Giuseppe Quintarelli is the benchmark estate of Valpolicella, run by the Quintarelli family from the hills above Negrar and known for its handwritten labels and patient, long-aged wines. Primofiore, the "first flower", is the youngest red the estate releases each year: 50% Corvina and Corvinone with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet is partly dried while the other grapes are freshly pressed, and the wine is then aged in Slavonian oak barrels. Perfumed, approachable Quintarelli red for salumi, pasta or roast meats.
