Tyokutuk-S is more than a smaller version of the Tyokutuk. It returns to the original form of the design, based on the early prototype that preceded the larger production version. Measuring under 200mm overall, the original configuration offered a more compact profile, a closer connection to the hand, and a more discreet approach to the distinctive Tyokutuk design. Years after the original prototype was developed and shared with collectors and friends, that early configuration returns as the Tyokutuk-S. The design preserves the defining elements of the original while incorporating subtle refinements developed through years of production and engineering experience. The Bohler M390 blade features the signature multi-stage grind and bold geometric machining that define the Tyokutuk platform. Its compact 87mm blade maintains the distinctive proportions and aggressive geometry of the original design while making the knife more practical for everyday carry. The handle is machined from a single block of TC4 titanium using an integral construction. The sweeping contours create a natural connection to the hand, while the signature tail ring remains one of the most recognizable elements of the design. More than a visual feature, the ring serves as a direct link to the original Tyokutuk concept. A hidden pocket clip is integrated cleanly into the handle, maintaining the uninterrupted lines of the integral construction while providing secure pocket carry. The compact format and 118g weight give the Tyokutuk-S a dense, solid feel without the bulk of the larger version. Deployment is handled through three distinct methods: front flipper, reverse flick, and inertial opening. The combination gives the Tyokutuk-S the same interactive character that has become a defining part of the design. The Tyokutuk-S also introduces updated pivot hardware developed through years of experience with the platform. The refinement is subtle, but the intention is straightforward: preserve what made the original design special while improving the details around it. Tyokutuk-S is a return to where the design began. Not recreated, not simply reduced, but refined from the original.
