Konstantin Chaykin - Master of Days Cufflinks

The Konstantin Chaykin Master of Days Cufflinks transform one of watchmaking's most practical complications into an interactive mechanical accessory. Each cufflink incorporates a fully mechanical day-of-the-week calendar composed of 40 components and housed inside a lightweight titanium case. Beneath an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a seven-pointed star controls a vivid blue pointer indicating the current day of the week. Unlike a conventional calendar watch, however, there is no watch movement automatically providing the impulse required to advance the indication. Instead, the wearer becomes part of the mechanism. Every time the cufflink is fastened, the calendar advances by one day, creating a direct mechanical connection between the object and its owner. Entirely developed, manufactured, decorated and assembled at the Konstantin Chaykin Manufacture, the Master of Days combines traditional haute horlogerie finishing with an original and playful interpretation of time.
