The Mariner's Sovereign

Tempo Sospeso - Time Suspended - is inspired by ancient ways of measuring time. I was fascinated by the mariners on the seas, looking to the midday sun, marking true midday using the natural world alongside man's early inventions - from the sundial to the clepsydra. The Mariner's Sovereign is an ode to the sailors and fishermen of times gone by. It is designed to carry your existing Alighieri medallions, so they are always on hand. The locket is hand-carved and cast in sterling silver; it is suspended on a 26 inch woven spiga chain.
