FINE ROMAN PROSTITUTE'S RING, C.100-300 AD, SIZE 7 1/2

Gilt bronze, size 7 1/2. Rounded face band, 1,8mm width. Stepped and expanded edge bezel with the center of pyramid form superficially imitating a gemstone and blatantly advertising the intentions of the wearer. Roman prostitutes were typically adolescents, largely slaves. Prostitution was practiced openly with brothels sometimes sharing doors with libraries. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
