Original Madsen LMG 7.92×57mm Mauser 30-Round Magazine – Rare

An original Madsen Light Machine Gun magazine chambered for the 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge. The Danish-designed Madsen was one of the earliest successful light machine guns and was supplied internationally in numerous different calibres. Among these was the 7.92×57mm Mauser, one of the major European military cartridges of the 20th century. This is the distinctive curved 30-round detachable box magazine used with later-pattern 7.92mm Madsen light machine guns. It incorporates the characteristic external spring-steel cartridge retaining strip running along the magazine body, an unusual feature of the Madsen feed system. The magazine retains its original dark military green finish with extensive genuine service wear, exposing the metal around the edges and other high points. Copper-coloured rivets remain clearly visible and the magazine carries a stamped “220” marking to the side.
