1940s Slacks

A beautifully tailored pair of 1940s-inspired wide-leg trousers, created from an authentic vintage pattern that has been carefully adjusted to improve the fit while retaining the fabulous original silhouette and period details. These trousers sit high on the natural waist, fitting neatly through the waist and upper hip before falling into a wonderfully wide, straight leg. A pressed crease runs down the front of each leg, while the deep turn-up cuffs at the hem give them that unmistakable tailored 1940s finish. One of the loveliest details is the extended waistband, which crosses neatly at the front and really helps define the waist. Belt loops are included so you can add your favourite vintage belt, and the trousers feature generous curved front pockets worked into the hip. They are made from a lightweight gabardine twill, composed of 80% polyester and 20% cotton at approximately 185gsm. The twill has a smooth, smart finish with enough body to hold the shape of the trousers and those lovely pressed lines, whilst still being lightweight and comfortable enough for everyday wear. Style them with one of our 1940s blouses for a complete vintage look, or pair them with a simple knit, shirt or fitted top for a very easy everyday wardrobe staple.
