Dating back to the 1970s, this vintage Davey's bag is made from brown suede and features a drawstring-style closure, a long shoulder strap, and suede fringe accented with colorful beads along the bottom. Inside, the handbag features a single compartment and is self-lined. The interior is finished with the original Davey’s label. Davey’s UP.CRAFTED Davey’s UP.CRAFTED reworks original pieces from our archive through new details, materials, and techniques. Each piece begins with a vintage Davey’s bag and is individually reworked in New York, making every finished bag one-of-one. For this bag, we visited a leather supplier in New York City's Garment District, where we searched through their scrap leather to select a combination of colors. Using these pieces, we developed two distinct geometric designs for the front and back of the bag. The layered leather appliqués introduce new colors, shapes, and textures while covering the areas of wear on the original suede. Each side features a different arrangement, giving the bag two unique appearances while preserving its original silhouette, fringe, beaded details, and drawstring construction. Original Davey’s, reworked for today.
