That's what happened here. The slice keeps its full natural outline and everything inside it — bubbles, hairline fractures, small voids, the soft colour boundary where red gives way to green — with no polishing or trimming to tidy the picture. It sits on a sterling silver band plated in black ruthenium, and a thin line of gold runs up to it like a stem holding a flower, which is roughly what the piece looks like from a step back.
