Experimental Polaroid: DIY Color Filters Workshop

BFC is hosting Experimental Polaroid: DIY Color Filters on October 18th, a hands-on workshop exploring experimental techniques for manipulating Polaroid film. Led by BFC Resident Polaroid Educator and Instant Film Society East Coast Regional Director Martin Souza, the workshop will introduce you to on-pack filters and how they can be used to alter the look of your instant photographs. Make + Experiment Just about anything can become a Polaroid filter if you make it the right shape. Martin will demonstrate how on-pack filters work and share a template that can be used to create your own filters from a variety of suitable materials. Students will make their own filters using red gel material, then put them to use with color Polaroid film to create eerie, otherworldly images, just in time for Halloween. No prior experience with experimental Polaroid techniques is necessary. Students should bring a Polaroid camera and one unopened pack of compatible color film. Filter-making materials will be provided. Limited tickets available.
