La Renommée

Digital Download "I’d been reading Kim Gordon’s autobiography and listening to a lot of EVOL-era Sonic Youth at the time and wanted to write a song that had the same hushed sense of urgency. Had no idea the bossa nova-inspired first verse drums would pan out as well as they did." - Chris "The lyrics are half about a fictional bartender, half about a real Montreal statue called La Renommée, a winged woman in Jeanne Mance Parc (who I was thinking about thanks to Kasia Van Schaik’s book Women Among Monuments.) The idea is that those two figures are maybe the same—standing guard over the city from their fixed perch." - Rosie Available as a high quality .wav file @1411kbps Release date: October 15, 2026
