Paringa Estate is a family-owned winery established in 1985 by owner and winemaker Lindsay McCall in Red Hill South on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, specialising in cool-climate varieties, above all Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The wines run through Peninsula, Estate and premium Single Vineyard ranges, and The Paringa sits at the very top, produced from old vines in the home vineyard and made only when the vintage delivers fruit worthy of the label.Expect a powerful, structured and elegant Pinot Noir with concentrated red berry and cherry fruit, savoury herbal nuances, spice and subtle earthy character. Fine tannins and bright acidity give it shape, integrated French oak adds complexity, and the finish is long and refined. At 13% ABV it is concentrated rather than light and fruit-forward.Pour it with roast duck, grilled lamb, mushroom dishes, roast chicken or soft cheeses, and decant it before serving.
