Le Takbe Sofa
Originally conceived by Alex de Betak for his own homes and installations, Takbe was born from a desire for a freer way of living—one that invites lounging, gathering, conversation, and contemplation. Built around a low platform with movable cushions, it adapts intuitively to the rhythms of daily life. This first edition with Pierre Augustin Rose introduces removable backrests, bringing added comfort and structure while preserving the openness of the original design. Available in two formats and two colourways, Takbe can be configured as a sofa, a daybed, or something in between—a living landscape shaped by its user. Spanning more than three decades across art, architecture, design, and experiential creation, de Betak’s practice has always embraced transformation. Takbe embodies this philosophy: a piece designed to evolve, never fixed in form or function. Long united by mutual admiration, Alex de Betak, Pierre Bénard, Augustin Deleuze, and Nina Rose collaborate here for the first time. Presented in New York, where Pierre Augustin Rose established its US home in 2025, Takbe also returns de Betak to the city where much of his creative vision first took shape.
