When temperatures dip below 50 degrees iguanas start falling from trees. Iguanas are an invasive species in Florida, coming from warmer climates where the temp rarely drops below 80 degrees. Yes they are beautiful prehistoric dinosaurs, but, one of their favorite meals is a bird egg and they are great swimmers and climbers. The eggs in a rookery don't have a chance. In this piece there is a great egret rookery, whose eggs did survive with blue frozen iguanas falling out of the trees. Maybe that gator is gonna get a bite? Next to the gator is a phone, this is an inside joke because one time my husband and I were walking on a beautiful boardwalk and some dude was loudly on his phone. Around the bend we heard a lot of swearing and he had accidentally dropped his phone in the water and we looked down to see a gator snap it, and then spit it out. Apples aren't that tasty. image size: 13x18” edition: 18 title: Falling Frozen Iguanas
