A large hand-finished tapestry woven in Flanders at Halluin, France, in the Point Genre Gobelins tradition — the weaving style developed at the royal Manufacture des Gobelins under Louis XIV. The subject, Les Amours Pastorales (pattern 2609), depicts a verdant river landscape with a water mill, thatched cottages, flowering banks, and towering trees, all framed in a rose garland border on a gold ground. The weave is exceptionally fine, with the tonal depth and colour gradation that separates a well-made Gobelins-style piece from a printed reproduction.
