A Holiday for Bear
In A Holiday for Bear, what starts off as another routine day for Bear quickly becomes a big adventure. Bear worries that he has got himself into a rut. He certainly loves his home in the woods and all his woodland friends, especially his best friend Frog. However, it has all become a little samey – the same route, the same friends; he’s done it so many times before. Frog counsels that he probably needs a holiday, a change of scene. Bear agrees and chooses a beach holiday. All begins brilliantly – the sun, a beach picnic, the crystal-clear blue water. Even a game of volleyball (although his opponent, a seagull is unable to offer much competition). Bear begins to think back to his friends, he wishes they were with him. When he starts a sand sculpture that ends up looking just like his friends, Bear knows he needs to find a way to achieve the best of both worlds. Duncan Beedie’s wonderful series continues with its unique mix of charm, character and humour.
