Shaman Mask

This Shaman mask was hand-carved from red cedar and painted with acrylic by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Spence Shaw. The mask features horse hair, feathers, cedar bark rope as well as graphite to accentuate the carved texture. This mask on its own measures approximately 9 inches or 23 centimeters high, by 6 inches or 15 cetimeters wide, by 5 inches or 13 centimeters deep. This mask including the horsehair and rope elements measures approximately 20 inches or 50 centimeters high, by 13 inches or 33 centimeters wide.
