***Max. 1 bottle per order Ovello is the northernmost cru in the portfolio, a high-altitude, wind-swept site that sits right above the river. The cold breezes and clay-limestone soils make this the most energetic, high-acid and long-lived wine of the entire Produttori stable. The winemaking is tailored to handle this fierce acid line, letting the juice spend extended time on skins to extract enough dense fruit tannin to balance things out, before slow maturation in large old oak. The 2021 season preserved that famous tension beautifully. It is a bright, nerve-tingling red packed with cranberry crunch, sour cherry and a distinct, sea-salted mineral lick. The tannins are firm and chalky, working alongside a fierce line of high-altitude acidity that clamps down on the finish. It is a serious cellaring prospect.
